Production time: buildings of the same type share the queue for all of that type’s units, while different building types work in parallel; the slowest type is shown. Research time is the total if every technology is researched one after another. To see how many villagers you need to gather these resources, use the villager calculator.
Example calculations
- All three age-ups (Feudal + Castle + Imperial): 2,300 food, 1,000 gold; 8 minutes in total
- All 15 Blacksmith technologies: 3,095 food, 1,695 gold; 14 minutes if researched one by one
- Cavalier + Paladin upgrades: 1,600 food, 1,050 gold
- 20 Knights from 2 Stables: 1,200 food, 1,500 gold; 5 minutes
- 30 Arbalesters from 3 Archery Ranges + Crossbowman, Arbalester, archer attack upgrades and Thumb Ring: 1,525 food, 1,000 wood, 2,150 gold
Among the generic upgrades listed, the most expensive is Siege Onager (1,450 food, 1,000 gold), followed by Paladin (1,300 food, 750 gold). If gold is tight in the Imperial Age, use these differences to decide which upgrade to get first.
How is it calculated?
Unit costs are multiplied by the count and the cost of the selected technologies is added. For production time, buildings of the same type share all units of that type: 20 Knights from 2 Stables means 10 Knights per Stable, so 10 × 30 seconds; if the same Stables also train Camel Riders, it takes longer. Different building types work in parallel, so the slowest type is shown. Conscription adds its cost when selected but does not shorten production time here; to see the speed-up, use the villager calculator.
What is not included
- Civilization discounts. Picking a civilization only filters the tech tree; many civilizations have discounts on certain units or technologies, and these are not applied. You can see the selected civilization’s bonuses above the calculator.
- Generic mode lists everything. Some technologies such as Two-Man Saw, Plate Barding Armor or Paladin are missing for many civilizations; without a civilization selected, all of them can be chosen.
- Unique units and technologies are not listed.
